Back on stage, the Festival of the Five Continents

From 30 July to 21 August 14 e date 12 stages between Basilicata, Puglia and Calabria

VEIN (PZ) – Is going to get going for the ninth consecutive year the caravan of "Artistinstrada", the itinerant exhibition conceived and organized by the cultural association "The Circus Art" of Venosa. The festival will kick off on Tuesday 30 of July by Latimer, in the province of Brindisi, to continue until the 21 August with milestones that will affect important centers of Basilicata, Puglia and Calabria. For the edition 2013 of "Artistinstrada" the artistic direction was entrusted to Pasquale Cappiello of the "Artistic Management", which over time has been able to give the event visibility and prestige increasing.

"Artistinstrada", as it has been since 2005, propose once again all those characteristics that have made known to the public as the "International Festival of the Five Continents". On stage artists from all over the world, for an event that unites the most varied expressions of international street theater and contemporary circus: dall'acrobatica juggling, verticalism from the transformation, from percussion to puppetry. The most beautiful sights of the historic centers will again be invaded by color, sounds, stories of the most diverse peoples, in a climate of interaction and exchange between cultures.

The companies selected for this ninth edition of the festival are well 18, from 10 nations, which will give rise to more than 100 free shows in the municipalities of the circuit of the event, which involve 5 province. Among the artists and bands on the bill are: Francisco Obregon (Chile), Mijikenda (Kenya), Skapigliati Street (Italy), Joy Toor (Israel), Willy Wonder (Germany), Cia Tresperte (Spain), Sandra Vera (Macedonia), Ojarus (Japan), Ruls (Mexico), Mistral (Chile), Valentine's Jazz (Macedonia), Irene Cross (Italy), Troubling (Italy), Dimidimitri (Italy), Peter Schewando (Germany), Iris Blue (Italy), Mr. David (Italy), Fekat Circus (Ethiopia).

Each stage will offer viewers young and old, from dusk till late in the evening, artistic performances unique in their kind: shows striking visual impact, able to drag the audience emotionally and turn it into a real star of the show. In detail, the twelve seats edition 2013 of "Artistinstrada" will be: Latimer – BR (30 July), Policoro – MT (1 August), Castelgrande – PZ (2 and 5 August), Acre – CS (3 August), Acerenza – PZ (9 August), Satriano di Lucania – PZ (9 August), Minervino Murge – BT (10 August), Park Grange of Brindisi di Montagna – PZ (11 August), Nice – PZ (13 August), Maschito – PZ (14 August), Tolve – PZ (15 August), Viggiano – PZ (20 and 21 August).

Particular attention will be paid this year to two appointments: the 2 August Castelgrande, for a special event dedicated to circus african Fekat Circus, presenting exceptional numbers of acrobatics and contortion; on 11 August in the park of the Grange, which will host the show "The Circus of Wonders", will be attended by as many as eight companies that will perform with their performance since the afternoon starting at 17.30. But the wait is great for each of the stages of "Artistinstrada", which promises once again as an extraordinary event of the summer in Southern Italy: an event designed for families, which aims to enhance and rediscover the historical centers, their history and their identity and at the same time to encourage the spirit of aggregation, socialization and brotherhood among peoples.
